CHILDHOOD

NWABUOGU CHIDOZIE VICTOR was born in 1973, In the native village of Umuerim Nsirimo in Umuahia South Local Government of Abia state. Victor grew up in an environment where families live in clusters gave him the opportunity for a fun-filled childhood where he engaged and enjoyed all the storytelling, cultural display, and the fight amongst children and families that were almost inevitable. Walking miles in the early morning hours to fetch clean water from the Agbi Iyi (the stream that served as the primary water source for the villagers) before going to school cannot be forgotten in a hurry. As the eldest male child at home, he could not escape the core tasks of clearing the farmlands, feeding the animals, and going in search of anwuru or utagba (the local tobacco snuff) for his grandfather, the distance notwithstanding. However, all these were often compensated with the fresh palm wine, chicken head, and any unfinished food in the house; after all, the piper also wipes his nose. Nsirimo Central School was the dream primary school of every child. With his white shirt tucked into his short blue pant and strapped across his shoulder, he was on top of his world as he became a proud school pupil.

EDUCATION AND CAREER

Typical of the Igbo tribe of the Eastern Nigeria, his uncle took him to Abuja in 1985 to continue his education as his contribution towards helping the family. Victor completed his primary education in 1986 at the then MFCT Demonstration School, Gwagwalada. He had his secondary education at Government Secondary School Gwagwalada from 1987 to 1992. He doubled as the school's senior labour prefect and General secretary of the Fellowship of Evangelical Students. This was the beginning of his social, cultural, and spiritual balance and tolerance as we had students from all parts of the country. Going through tertiary education from 1994 to 2000 was pretty rough as it was dotted with health and financial challenges. Still, the joy of graduating from the Department of Building and Quantity Surveying in 2000 serves as a succor that enveloped the difficult memories. The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu served as a further fertile platform for his professional and spiritual stability. Amazingly, before his graduation in 2000, he had served as:

  1. The General Secretary of The Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical Students ( NIFES) for the Preliminary Studies Department)
  2. The Assistant Organising Secretary of NIFES, IMT.
  3. The President of NIFES, IMT
  4. The Treasurer of NIFES, Enugu Sub-Zone
  5. The President NIFES, Enugu Sub-Zone.

Taking time to think over these, it is evident that no success comes suddenly. In January 2002, he was deployed to Oyo state in the South Western region of Nigeria for his one-year mandatory National Youth Service. Again, this was another twist in his life as he found himself in an entirely new and different culture. Still, his cross-cultural interactions in primary and secondary schools gave him an immediate soft landing. With a predetermined goal of never to redeploy, his adjustment into the new environment came pretty faster. Ibadan North East was his home where he served as the Chairman, Building Committee of the Corps Members Association, and the president of the Nigeria Christian Corpers’ Fellowship, Oyo state. After taking up stop-gap jobs and business between 2003-2005, he joined Kintuss Associates, an Ibadan-based Quantity Surveying and Project Management firm. He trained as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor from 2006 to 2010. And also trained at Project Management Academy, Lagos, in 2010. He became the Principal Partner of Promadoc Associates, a Project Management firm based in Ibadan, Nigeria, in 2010. HE IS the Executive Director of Kick Out Suicide Initiative (KOSI) and the Chief Executive Officer of LIfesavers Books in 2020. He is the author of SUICIDE: BRAVERY OR COWARDICE, and WHO TAKES THE QUEEN? Victor is presently serving God as a Pastor in New Covenant Church, and he is married to Stella Chigozie

‘This book goes from searching to discovery. It offers hope and trust in the power of God that never fails and the redemptive power that comes from salvation in Jesus Christ.’
